Gen AI for fiction authors: Gunshot
My exploration of generative AI's potential for fiction authors—specifically in proofreading, review, and research—continues. This time, I'm investigating how AI-generated feedback can be integrated into the draft review process. Can AI truly understand authorial intent like a human reader?
I'm using NotebookLM to find out. I'm testing whether it can generate a podcast that reveals how it interprets a text, focusing on key elements like punctuation, clarity, themes, voice, character, pace, and literary devices. To begin, I've written a short story for this initial test.
The podcast generated by NotebookLM is below. Based on this simple test, I'm encouraged by the results. The system effectively interpreted the text. The time required for generation varies depending on factors such as the length and complexity of the input.
